여왕벌 Cell : Steps to split a hive and install cell

혼자서 여왕벌 생산하기를 몇번 실패한 후에 트레이드미에서 여왕벌 cell을 몇개 사봤습니다.

여왕벌 cell을 픽업하러 오기 전에 준비해야 할 사항을 이메일로 받았습니다.

뭐를 하든 쉬운게 없습니다.

여왕벌 Cell은 1개당 $6입니다.

처녀 여왕벌을 사려면 마리당 $38짜리도 있고, $12짜리도 있습니다.

올해에는 기어이 여왕벌 생산하기에 성공하고야 말겠습니다.

Steps to split a hive and install cell:

1. Setup new hive. Locate the queen in your other hive and make sure 
she is secure while you work.
2. Install 2-4 frames of mostly capped brood.
3. Install 1-2 frames of honey/pollen
4. Shake in extra bees from 1-2 open brood (larvae) frames
5. Close hive, place a bush or tree branch in front of hive so bees 
re-orient on new hive.
6. (Later) Open hive and install queen cell between 2 frames of brood.
7. (Optional) Check back in 4 weeks when you should have capped brood 
depending on weather.
